On December 9, the 2023 Petroleum and Chemical Industry Summit on Promoting Chinese-style Modernization Development and the 19th Annual Meeting of China Chemical Industry News Strategic Partners was held in Nanjing. With the theme of "Stabilize Growth, Promote Transformation and Seek Innovation", the conference adheres to the requirements of chemical technological innovation and plans for the future of high-quality development of the industry. The annual meeting is guided by the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation, hosted by China Chemical Industry News Co., Ltd., organized by Nanjing Jiangbei New Materials Technology Park, and co-organized by Sunpower Tech (Jiangsu) Co., Ltd. Zhang Sidai, member of the Party Committee and deputy general manager of China Chemical News, presided over the meeting.

At the meeting, Cui Xuejun, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of China Chemical Industry News, delivered a speech. Tao Lei, member of the Party Working Committee and deputy director of the Management Committee of Nanjing Jiangbei New Area, reported on the development of Jiangbei New Area in his speech. Driven by this year's plan to strengthen Nanjing as a powerful industrial city, the industrial layout of Nanjing's four major districts has been optimized and adjusted to accelerate the transformation and development of the petrochemical industry towards high-end and intelligent directions. The overall situation is bright and promising. Jiangbei New District will give full play to the existing size, technology, and cluster advantages of the new district's petrochemical industry, accelerate joint innovation, integrated innovation, and develop green and low-carbon industries that include energy-saving, environmentally friendly resource recycling, and clean energy utilization.

Chairman Guo Hongxin said in his speech that the petrochemical industry is a basic and pillar industry of China's national economy. It has a large economic aggregate and high industrial correlation, and is related to the stable growth of industry and the smooth operation of the economy. In the first half of 2023, pressure on industrial growth has become prominent and the task of stabilizing growth is arduous. Strategic research, judgment and response to the future trends of the petroleum and chemical industry are major issues of general concern to the industry. The convening of the conference is believed to have a positive effect on stabilizing growth of the industry. It will help open up new fields and new tracks, and will be conducive to promoting technological innovation, transformation and upgrading of the industry. During the keynote report session of the conference, Chairman Guo Hongxin shared his ideas on the theme of "Innovation is the core driving force for sustainable development of enterprises".
