Recently, ShanDong Yangguang Engineering Design Institute Co., LTD (hereinafter referred to as "the Institute"), a subsidiary of Sunpower Technology Group, has successfully secured the design contract for an 80-ton-per-day industrial-grade liquid CO₂ capture and recovery project from Vietnam Quang Son CaCO₃ Trading and Production Joint Stock Company. As a significant initiative to promote the "going global" of green technologies and deepen engagement in green cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative, this project marks a key step in the company’s international expansion in the field of carbon capture technology.

Vietnam Quang Son CaCO₃ Trading and Production Joint Stock Company is a well-known producer of industrial and food-grade lime kiln products in Thai Nguyen Province, Vietnam. Leveraging technology achievements jointly developed with leading domestic universities and implemented at an industrial scale, the Institute has established a new-generation CCUS (Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage) technology system. This cooperation focuses on addressing the challenge of resource utilization of low-pressure, low-concentration CO₂ tail gas from lime kiln emissions. By applying this technology system, low-concentration CO₂ in the kiln exhaust is captured and recovered. After desorption, high-concentration CO₂ is produced, which then undergoes compression, desulfurization, and drying to finally yield industrial-grade liquid CO₂. This technical pathway achieves both environmental and economic benefits through waste gas reduction and resource recycling, demonstrating the role of green technology in promoting industrial upgrading.

Against the backdrop of global carbon capture technology evolving toward higher efficiency, lower energy consumption, and reduced costs, the Institute has capitalized on its first-mover advantage in the low-carbon transition of the building materials industry to create the “Yangguang Solution” – a seamless pathway from laboratory research to industrial application. The Institute has achieved large-scale application of its patented process package for a new-generation composite amine absorption solvent integrated with CCUS technology. This technological breakthrough has successfully propelled carbon capture from the "pilot stage" to "industrial demonstration." With its replicable and scalable technical model, it provides a reference solution for the green transformation of high-carbon industries, showcasing China’s strength in technological innovation within the carbon capture field.

Since entering the Vietnamese market in 2008, the Institute has built upon its traditional power design expertise to gradually establish a diversified technical service portfolio covering building materials, environmental protection, and clean energy. Through a deeply integrated model of "technology export + localized service," the Institute has developed an increasingly mature business network in the Southeast Asian market. This project not only consolidates the Institute's leading position in the field of industrial-grade CO₂ capture but also lays a solid foundation for future market expansion by incorporating technical interfaces reserved for high-value-added product lines such as food-grade CO₂.

As an active practitioner of green cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative, the Institute will continue to focus on cutting-edge fields such as biomass energy, resource recycling, and smart technologies. It aims to build a global green industrial chain through innovation, continuously supply low-carbon technology solutions to countries along the Belt and Road, promote the upgrade of the clean energy industry chain toward higher value-added activities, and contribute "Chinese momentum" to global climate governance through concrete actions.
