Nanjing SHENGNUO Company, a subsidiary of Sunpower Technology Group, has recently achieved a significant milestone in its international operations by successfully delivering an air heating system for ExxonMobil Singapore's APS Phase II Carbon Emission Reduction Project. As one of the core units of the project, this system marks a further breakthrough for Chinese industrial energy-saving and carbon reduction technologies in the high-end international market.

Against the backdrop of the Singapore government's announcement to gradually increase carbon taxes starting in 2024, ExxonMobil launched the emission reduction project at its integrated refining and chemical complex in Singapore. As one of the world's largest integrated refining and chemical production bases, the project aims to comply with policy requirements and explore low-carbon transition pathways for high-energy-consumption industries.
During the design phase, Nanjing SHENGNUO innovatively integrated sensors, controllers, and communication modules to form an intelligent air preheating system, replacing traditional plate heat exchangers. By recovering waste heat from flue gas, the system significantly improves furnace efficiency, achieving a comprehensive energy efficiency increase of nearly 10% compared to pre-retrofit levels. This not only meets the Singapore government's energy efficiency upgrade requirements for carbon reduction projects but also realizes dual optimization of environmental and economic benefits through energy recovery.

Throughout the project implementation, to ensure precise compatibility with Singapore's refining and chemical production lines, Nanjing SHENGNUO and ExxonMobil established a cross-national joint working group. From solution development and functional realization to detail refinement, multiple rounds of technical demonstrations and process optimizations were conducted, ultimately achieving on-time equipment delivery and earning high recognition from the client.
The successful delivery of this system represents an important practice of deepened collaboration in carbon reduction technology within the industrial energy-saving sector. As a national high-tech enterprise, Nanjing SHENGNUO has leveraged over two decades of R&D accumulation in high-efficiency heat transfer technology to build a multi-scenario energy-saving technology system centered on thermal superconductors—heat pipes. The company has now developed customized industrial energy-saving solutions covering sectors such as petrochemicals, steel, metallurgy, and power generation, which have been applied in multiple key overseas projects including Hyundai Steel's coke oven flue gas treatment in South Korea and Dexin Steel's waste heat power generation in Indonesia. The successful delivery of the Singapore project not only demonstrates the advanced standing of the company's technological system in meeting international environmental standards but also sets a new benchmark for Chinese technological solutions in the global industrial energy-saving sector.
Looking ahead, Nanjing SHENGNUO will continue to use technological innovation as a link, vigorously promote high-efficiency heat transfer and heat pipe technologies, actively explore integrated applications of industrial waste heat recovery systems, and work with industry partners to continuously expand application scenarios for low-carbon technologies, providing green transformation solutions for high-energy-consumption industries worldwide.
